Planning Carefully for the Future is a Blessing

Become a Self-Disciplined Person

One of the best ways you can love others is first by loving yourself. Taking full responsibility for yourself frees others up from worrying about you that may underscore a lack of discipline in your life. Also by setting a good example you can wind-up leading others into righteousness. In my personal Bible study time I discovered Proverb 18:15 which says, “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge (this is another reason to attend good church services). See my post on my home page,  My Aim is Love to discover what qualities to look for in a good church.

Become a Prudent Person for a Promising Future

We need to bring the word prudence back into frequent use for the betterment of all of us. Prudence means to give careful consideration to the future. It is what is necessary for planning and personal peace. To live in a fast paced, harried way creates chaos and waste. Both of which are not beneficial to mankind.

Pursue Spiritual Practice Daily as you Follow Jesus Christ

It is wise to seek knowledge and the best source of knowledge comes from God directly. In my post12 Healthy Good Habits I refer to habit number 1 as it being important to have a time of personal praise, prayer and Bible study. Further, I say a time of combined praise, prayer and Bible study gives a good start to spiritual, insightful steady focus and stress management for the heavenly minded. This is how we should go about seeking personal peace in our lives; by trusting in God. By trusting in God’s word we have a steady foundation underneath our feet. Specifically that foundation is Christ, who is referred to as the Word, at the beginning of the Gospel of John.

In Your Knowledge Seeking, Get Wisdom

For a westerner, to start your Bible reading in the gospels may be difficult because in it there are words you may not understand but it gives you a feel for who Jesus is when you read the gospels. So I’d recommend reading a chapter a day to start in the gospel of John and then get yourself into one of the easier books that doesn’t contain so much specificity about culture and history. A good book of the Bible to start in for it is Proverbs or Ecclesiastes. Or if it is more important for you to gain personal peace through spiritually comforting words, read the Psalms as a starting point. If you’re unfamiliar with certain words in your reading of the Bible, find a good Bible dictionary or another reliable source of information so you can know about what you are reading.
