If I were to select a virtue to explain the purpose of this blog, I’d select the word, love. Also, I want my joy to be complete. So first off I’ll explain why I want you to emulate Christ Jesus as your chosen role model. Jesus said many virtuous and valuable things.
For example, in Matthew 6:19, Jesus said, ”Lay not up for yourselves treasure upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
The temporary satisfaction gained from the purchase of things, brings just that, temporary satisfaction. But having heavenly minded ambitions is where true satisfaction lies. I want you to have true and lasting satisfaction. I want you to have joy! And the best way to have joy is to place yourself in Jesus sandals and walk as he walked,, in full obedience to the Father.
Are you needing to be saved?
So my aim is to spread the love of Jesus Christ. Jesus overcame the world and you can overcome through him to live a holy life. But before I get to the good news of the gospel, I have to share some truthful news about us though: we’re all sinners. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But the good news is even though the penalty for sin is death, Jesus Christ died for our sins instead of us having to suffer the full wrath of God. Romans 6:23 says, ‘For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So to receive Jesus, you first have to admit you are a sinner.
Next you have to believe Jesus died for your sins. Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows his love for us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Then thirdly, you can call upon Jesus as Lord through prayer, asking him to forgive you of your sins so he can save you.
Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Here is a simple prayer you can pray:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and can’t save myself. I need you to save me. I believe you were raised from the dead by our Heavenly Father. I ask for the forgiveness of my sins so I can be born again in Spirit to receive God the Father’s blessing of eternal life. It’s in your precious name I pray Jesus. Amen.
Is church service attendance necessary?
Church service attendance is for love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13) purposes. Brotherly love among fellow believers, is an initial aim the church holds. Believers are warned against disfellowshipping from the church body. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” The day draws near for Christ’s return.
How do I select a good church to attend?
